Battery Law Notices
Instructions on the Battery Act
Batteries are included with most electrical devices. For example, with our diving lamps, dive computers, diver watches, and other electronic instruments like digital manometers and oxygen analysis devices. In connection with the distribution of these batteries and replacement batteries, we as retailers are required by the Battery Act to inform our customers of the following:
Please dispose of old batteries and accumulators (rechargeable batteries), as mandated by legislation, at a municipal collection point or hand them over free of charge at your local retailer. Disposal in household waste is expressly prohibited by the Battery Act, to ensure targeted recycling of resources and potential pollutants. Batteries that we have carried or currently carry in our range can be returned to us at our dive shop at the address below free of charge after use, or sent back to us by mail with sufficient postage. This applies to amounts that end-users typically dispose of.

The obligation to dispose properly is indicated by the crossed-out waste bin, which is printed on all battery packaging. Additionally, the chemical symbols of the substances Cadmium (Cd), Lead (Pb), or Mercury (Hg) are also found there, provided they contain concentrations above the threshold values.
You can find these instructions again in the accompanying documents of the goods shipment or in the manufacturer's operating instructions.
Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004 mass percent of lead
Cd = Battery contains more than 0.002 mass percent of cadmium
Hg = Battery contains more than 0.005 mass percent of mercury
